And the big surprise was....

We had the best time at... TA DA!

The Tulalip Resort and Casino, grand opening to be held in a month, on August 15th!

And no, we didn't gamble one penny. Tempting, but the idea was to spend time together, and the baby puts a damper on such things sometimes. He's still nursing, so he came along.

Drat, the spa wasn't open yet. But the outlets were, and it had the best king sized bed ever, and a huge tv, and one whole wall for a window, and a shower with three shower heads! Omigoodness, and the food was good and not expensive. Even though you can smoke there (tribal land), they did a great job having vents to catch a lot of the smoke, and it's pretty family friendly, too, considering it's a casino. We had a blast.

I wished I'd remembered my camera because Dominic was hilarious, checking out this gorgeous, romantic bedroom, smearing baby food on the window, nose diving the body pillow, playing peek a boo under the sheets, throwing mom's things in the garbage can, and getting his hand stuck in the shower door several times. He did ok except he must have had a tummy bug and had to go #2 from 3-5 am, which ran us out of diapers, so Daddy had to go to Walmart at 5 am for diapers and wipes. Yargh. No sleep, but lots of fun. A great big tv with the National Geographic channel for Dominic? What's not to love? I'm so glad we didn't try to stay up very late, given I got four hours of sleep. We did enjoy really spending time with Dominic, too. Him being #4, he rarely gets that kind of time, and he ate it up. He didn't seem to miss the sibs much til he saw them. They had a great time, too. We'll be doing it again in a month, but in reverse. I get eight kids, all to myself! It will be like four sets of twins! Those parents will also have a blast.

Meanwhile, since they just left on a camping trip, we've inherited some fish from someone whose fish they were also babysitting. Pretty beta fish. Hopefully not ours to keep... Ahem.

I gotta feed kids now, but I highly recommend a break at least once a year with no kids fighting in the background. I can feel my shoulders lower about an inch every time we do this! I love my husband, did I mention that?
