Save Poca

This is quite a story, yet another from my great state of WA. We were foster parents, and we had great social workers. I hope whoever has a power trip loses their job. This is very sad, and not completely unheard of. Too bad it has to get to the Today Show to get the governor to intervene. Go Dick and Amy!!

    Hi, We are also foster parents and this story is makes me SICK. I also posted about poor Poca. I would be willing to bet the people in this situation from DSHS are NOT Social Workers though... rather, Case Workers. I am a Social Worker and take great offense to those who claim to be a Social Worker, but are not. Next time you have one in your house calling herself a Social Worker, I urge you to ask if if her degree is truly in Social Work. We were trained to NEVER harm a child this way, only to prove a lesson. I am outraged over this situation. Do you know how to make a PRAY FOR POCA button? I don't but want to spread it around so badly. I love your blog! :) It's fun to read. Thanks for taking a vested interest in this situation and for providing a loving home to kids who need it.

    Welcome, Katie! You know, I never made that connection. I'm really glad you mentioned it, and I will mention it to my foster parent friends. I only do respite these days, but it's still a passion of mine.
